Scotland Trip – Day 2 – Sterling to Avimore

It was just over 100 miles to Avimore, mainly up the A9, some dual and some single carriageway with a couple of road works thrown in. It rained quite heavily during part of the trip but we still got some good views as we entered the Highlands.

We arrived at Graham and Margaret’s cottage around midday. It’s right in the centre of the village and dates back to 1932, before all the tourist development.

Spent the restocking the day looking round the area. We went right up the mountain to the Ski station where the conditions were quite fierce even in May.

Lower down Margret showed us where she lived when she was a child and the church where they were married.
